Slut Walk Layout

This layout won second place in the Feature Page Layout category at the TIPA (Texas Intercollegiate Press Association) 2022 contest. I worked on text and image placement, aesthetic design choices, and overall layout to create this striking page.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Layout

For this page, I worked on both layout and image editing. I cut out the top right corner of the header image to create more contrast for the headline, and added gradients to blend the image with the rest of the page.

Volleyball Cover Layout

I worked with a partner on this front page layout; we brainstormed ideas and I selected, cut out, and edited the images for my partner to place on the page.

UTD Mercury 3-7-22 Issue
Art Gallery Photo Spread

A partner and I collaborated to choose images from an art gallery event to create a cohesive photo essay. We based the selections on event categories and awards won, as well as the size, shape, and color palette of the pieces.

Comet Comments Layout

Laying out this student interview column was like a puzzle. I had to fit all four photographs with their corresponding quotes alongside the students' headshots into the half-page spread while keeping an appropriate amount of negative space.

Three-Section Layout

This page consists of three parts I put together: a brief comparison of UTD Student Government parties, a Comet Comments interview column, and a survey results bracket. I created two versions of the Comet Comments column for this page, so that either three or four responses could be included for each question.
